The Toyota Voxy is the Noah’s sportier twin and it sits between the Sienta and the Estima in Toyota’s family of MPVs. The Voxy differentiates itself from the Noah with split headlights and clear taillights. It is targeted at families with children who are looking for a spacious MPV without breaking the bank or drivers who need the flexibility of a three-row MPV to ferry people and cargo around.
The current 3rd generation Toyota Voxy was introduced in early 2014 and featured sweeping changes to its exterior design, safety systems and cabin. New features include engine start-stop to improve fuel economy and one-touch sliding doors. Toyota’s Safety Sense C with pre-crash safety system (laser radar and monocular camera), lane departure alert and automatic high beam is also standard on all variants.
The Voxy underwent a mid-life makeover in mid-2017 and now sports an even more distinctive design headlined by a snout which is instantly recognisable by the revised grille, headlights and the taillights.
The Toyota Voxy 1.8X Hybrid is propelled by a hybrid drivetrain comprising a 1.8-litre DOHC 4-cylinder engine and electric motor/battery combo mated to a CVT. It’s an economical drive with a claimed figure of 4.2 litres/100 km and seats seven easily with the one-touch sliding doors aiding entry and egress.
Other features include a myriad of LED lights such as bi-beam headlights, clearance lights and high-mount stop lights as well as urethane steering wheel, electric power steering with speed-sensitive function), black inside door handles and centre cluster panel, hybrid system indicator and mode switch (Eco drive, EV drive and power mode).
