The Toyota Vellfire is the sister model to the Toyota Alphard and it is marketed as a luxury car for the discerning owner who enjoys being chauffeured around. While the Alphard’s exterior exudes “luxury”, the Vellfire’s exterior emphasises “boldness”.
The current Toyota Vellfire is the second-generation model, which was introduced in early 2015, it sported a new look and new features such as new 2.5-litre in-line 4-cylinder engine and new double-wishbone rear suspension for a very comfortable ride and excellent handling ability. The new face is instantly recognisable by its split, trapezoidal grille and larger headlights when compared to the Alphard. Size-wise, the Vellfire’s length and breadth had grown by 60 mm and 20 mm respectively while its wheelbase has increased by 50 mm.
In late 2017, the Toyota Vellfire received a facelift with updated styling cues and the second-generation Toyota Safety Sense which has features such as pre-crash safety and radar cruise control.
The Toyota Vellfire 2.5S and it is propelled by a 182 PS and 235 Nm, 2.5-litre in-line 4-cylinder engine mated to a highly efficient 7-speed Super CVT-i transmission. Able to accommodate eight passengers, this luxury MPV is one of the rare few that can do so thanks to its middle row 6:4 split tip-up seat and rear row 5:5 split space-up seat (tip-up assist function). Other key equipment highlights include 16-inch alloy wheels with 215/65 R16 tyres for optimum comfort, twin moonroof, smart entry and start system, dual power slide doors, Optitron meters, LED roof colour illumination (colour change) and full auto air-conditioning system.
