Bolder in stance, the brand-new Toyota Corolla Sedan Ascent Sport Hybrid arrives with the Japanese brand’s latest automotive technology – the Toyota Hybrid System. This 12th generation model of Corolla exhibits more promising performance, style, and functionality, among other vehicles.
Its remarkable reliability comes from the Inline-4 VVT-i engine that generates a power output of 120BHP and 142 Nm of torque.
This Sport Hybrid boasts of its athletic features such as Vehicle Stability Control, SRS Airbag Package, and Active Cruise Control. As standard, an 8-inch touchscreen display provides information and entertainment inside the cabin.
With the combination of optimum efficiency and a distinct look, the Toyota Corolla Sedan Ascent Sport Hybrid surpasses its top rivals by a number.
Special Features of the Toyota Corolla Sedan Ascent Sport Hybrid
SRS Airbag Package
Designed to supplement and enhance the seat belt system and improve passenger safety, the Toyota Corolla Sedan Ascent Sport Hybrid comes with 7 Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Airbags deployed at the speed of 100 to 300 km / h.
The airbag of the driver spreads from the steering wheel and the front passengers from the dashboard.
ISOFIX Feature
The ISOFIX feature includes the ISOFIX anchor with two lower loops per position to which the child seat can be attached and keeps your child safe. A top tether anchor use also comes practical when the child seat is in the forward-facing position.
Digital Radio (DAB+)
Instead of using the old bland ‘search’ button, Toyota offers a Digital radio (DAB+) that makes it easy to flip through. It automatically tunes to all available digital stations.
It transmits the track and artist details to your car’s multimedia screens, as well as news or traffic updates, without interrupting the audio stream.
All-speed Active Cruise Control
Ensures a maintained safe distance between vehicles; this feature also keeps your car at a preselected speed using your Toyota’s built-in camera and front-grille-mounted radar.
When these sensors detect a slower vehicle moving within distance, your vehicle will be slowed down by the system to keep a safe space.
Reversing Camera
Reverse parking and manoeuvring are considerably more straightforward and smoother using the rearview camera. When reverse gear is engaged, it is activated automatically and displays the vehicle (with dynamic guidelines) on the central monitor.
The media display’s dynamic guidelines give drivers a clear orientation when manoeuvring.
Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)
Stabilizing the car while turning in a curve, the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) feature in the Toyota Corolla effectively prevents sideways sliding of wheels while manoeuvring or unexpected steering.
Braking is automatically applied to all four individual wheels when the vehicle detects a loss of traction or slip, and engine power decreases to help ensure the vehicle’s safety.
Interior of the Toyota Corolla Sedan Ascent Sport Hybrid
60/40 Split-fold Rear Seats
Toyota rendered the Corolla’s seat to provide a high degree of ease and comfort in daily use. A 6:4 split-flat-folding rear seat, sliding and reclining bench design with adjustable head restraints for each position.
Part of the seatback reclines individually in four different positions or folds flat for cargo handling.
Cup and Bottle Holders
Fitted with 4 x cup holders and 4 x bottle holders, Toyota Corolla provides you a place to keep your water bottle other than on the floor, rolling around your feet. This feature’s purpose is to keep your drinks secure and within reach.
Touchscreen Multimedia
To help you stay linked on the lane, the Corolla Sedan comes packed with cutting-edge technology. A well-sized 8-inch touchscreen display enables you to access your digital instrument apps while on the move using voice command with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It also incorporates the new Toyota infotainment features such as Bluetooth connectivity, voice recognition, Siri Eyes Free, reversing camera, and the my-Toyota app to connect with your smartphone for live weather forecasts, travel, and traffic statistics.
Sun Visors
Mounted just above the windshield, Toyota Corolla’s built-in sun visors are tailored with adjustable hinged flaps to protect the diver’s eyes and the front passenger from the glare of sunlight.
The sun visors also lower the interior temperature. Blocking and reflecting the sun helps reduce the heat build-up inside your vehicle.
Door Pockets
Providing you with a convenient way to access your important things within your reach, door pockets save your time and make it easy for you to locate your stuff such as glasses, phones, credit cards, keys, and coins.
Multi-Information Display (MID)
Toyota models are fitted with advanced Multi-Information Display (MID), guaranteeing that you are always in tune with vehicle operations, and safety systems.
Located with the tachometer and speedometer directly in front of the steering wheel, with this feature, you will have essential driving information at eye level when you get behind the wheel.
Exterior of the Toyota Corolla Sedan Ascent Sport Hybrid
Automatic High Beam
Automatic High Beam provides you with a clear view of the road ahead. This feature senses the oncoming headlights and taillights that protects you and other drivers on the route from being blinded by your high beams.
It switches off the high beams and engages the low beams once it detects headlights. The system automatically activates the high beams again as the headlights pass.
LED Tail Lamps
Built-in to the Toyota Corolla to provide higher visibility at night and guarantee you better safety in driving.
Tailored with several light bulb systems, LED tail lights typically emit a series of small, often bright, glittering lights, making it easier for vehicles to be seen in the dark by drivers trailing behind other cars.
Heated Door Mirrors
Trimming down the condensation in cold weather, the Heated door mirrors of Toyota Corolla prevent the mirrors from icing up. Automatically heating the exterior mirror upon the vehicle’s startup when the outside temperature is low or when the rear defrost feature is enabled.
Rear LED Fog Lamps
Providing visibility amidst adverse conditions while flaunting a sporty character, Toyota Corolla features LED Fog Light with precision optics, which provides a highly regulated light to help drivers in the thick fog and rain.
Machinated in special housing with high resistance to water, impact, and corrosion.
LED Daytime Running Lamps (LED DRL)
The Toyota Corolla LED Daytime Running Lamps, otherwise known as LED DRL is integrated into the headlight clusters, making it easier for other motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and cars to notice your presence on the road. This feature is most likely to lessen multiple vehicle daytime accidents.

Toyota Corolla 2020 review: Ascent Sport sedan by Cars Guide
History of Toyota Corolla Sedan Ascent Sport Hybrid
In 1996, Toyota developed the Corollas at the Takaoka factory in Japan. The Corolla has always been exclusive at the Toyota Corolla Store, a previously founded Japanese retail sales chain in 1961. This store was also known as the Toyota Publica Store, which trades Publica.
At the 2018 Guangzhou International Motor Show, the sedan variation of the Corolla was unveiled simultaneously on the 15th and 16th of November 2018 in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, the United States, and China. The model is available in two versions: Prestige (sold in China, Europe, and other countries) and Sporty (sold as Levin in North America, Japan, Australia, China, and others).
The Toyota Corolla represents growing popularity as one of the oldest nameplates in the world. Australia was the first foray into an international market for the Corolla, landing on our shores as a tiny sedan in a big country in 1967. The Corolla has since changed with the times, selling over the years as a coupé, station wagon, and two-door van.
The Corolla Ascent Sport starts things off at $23,335 with the top model, Corolla ZR TWO Tone Variant (hybrid), priced at $35,64, now available as a small-sized hatch and sedan.
The Corolla faces powerful competition from rivals of both the Volkswagen Golf and Mazda3. Still, so far, Toyota has manufactured more than 40 million Corollas and launched more than a million in Australia, so they must do something right. The Toyota Corolla 2020 is available in both Hatchback and Sedan.
Now in its 12th generation, with just over 30,000 sold in 2019 and some 17,000 sold so far this year, the Corolla just keeps on and regularly tops passenger car sales charts here.
Standard features comprise the bi-LED headlamps, daytime running LED lights, single-zone climate control, 8.0-inch color touch-screen, audio, and phone steering wheel controls, 4.2-inch multi-information display, reverse camera, 60/40 split-fold rear seat, keyless entry and start wheels, and 15-inch alloy wheels.
