Named as the Timeless Machine, the Porsche 911 Carrera separates itself from previous models with its high technology features and a stronger character. An icon in a world of icons and a league of its own.
Special Features of the Porsche 911 Carrera
20/21-inch RS Spyder Design Wheels
Showcasing an agile and progressive stance, the new 911 Carrera features athletic different wheel sizes at the front and rear.
The 20/21-inch RS Spyder design wheels offer more stability and comfort with the larger diameter on the rear axle.
Electric Slide/Tilt Glass Sunroof
The slide/tilt sunroof, which is electrically adjustable, adds even more room to your 911 Carrera. You can open it wide to the outside without being concerned about headroom limitations.
Even when closed, the tinted toughened safety glass of the electric slide/tilt sunroof adds to the sense of space.
Adaptive Sports Seats Plus
Experience maximum comfort courtesy of the Adaptive Sports Seats Plus in the new 911 Carrera as it provides you with support even during dynamic cornering manoeuvres.
These sport seats in smooth-finish leather feature an 18-way electric adjustment of seat positions, including side bolsters and lumbar support.
It also includes a comprehensive memory function and electric steering column adjustment.
Sports Exhaust System
Impressive resonance and intense sports car sound is the aim of the sports exhaust system with black-finish sports stainless steel tailpipes.
This system also features a central rear silencer, leading into two laterally positioned tailpipes.
Porsche Entry & Drive
Experience a higher level of accessibility with the Porsche Entry and Drive system. This allows you to quickly enter and start the car without using a physical car key.
As long as the car key is close to the vehicle, the system automatically checks the encrypted access code on the key and the door will be unlocked.
Along with the opening of the driver’s door, the Porsche Entry and Drive also enable you to access the luggage compartment by simply placing your hand near the Porsche Crest on the front luggage compartment lid.
Sport Chrono Package
Allowing for an even tuning of the engine, chassis and transmission, the Sport Chrono package comes with a mode switch, Porsche Track Precision app and tyre temperature display.
The mode switch enables you to select different driving styles. You can increase the driving dynamics, save your personal preferences or even aid your driving on a wet road.
You can also track your lap times and driving data with the Porsche Precision app through your smartphone while the tyre temperature display is shown on the PCM screen.
Interior of the Porsche 911 Carrera
21st-Century Sports Car Ergonomics
The Porsche 911 Carrera combines old strengths with a new possibility by combining analogue precision and digital integration.
Its interior comes equipped with an analogue rev counter positioned in the centre of the instrument cluster to always be in the driver’s line of sight.
The ascending centre console ensures short distances between the steering wheel, gear level and intuitively placed button switches.
Established in the left and right of the analogue rev counter are two high-resolution 7-inch displays with essential vehicle information that is enhanced by the 10.9-inch touchscreen display of Porsche Communication Management (PCM).
Heated Multifunctional GT Sports Steering Wheel
The heated multifunctional GT sports steering wheel allows you to use the audio, telephone, and navigation functions through a tap of a button directly on it without the need to take your hands off the wheel.
This GT sports steering wheel also comes with additional thumb rests, and a top centre marking shows off its 911 motorsport genes. It is covered in leather and features a cross-stitched seam.
Porsche Communication Management (PCM)
Providing you with easy and quick access, the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) is your central control centre for audio, navigation, communication, and even various assistance systems.
It features a high-resolution 10.9-inch touchscreen display to control most in-car functions easily.
The PCM allows you to conveniently make a call, select music, or even watch the news as it also comes with an Apple Carplay feature, allowing you to connect your smartphone and safely use it while driving.
Porsche Crests on Headrests
Showcasing an undeniable combination of luxury and sportiness, the new 911 Carrera comes equipped with a leather seat upholstery and integrated Porsche Crests on its headrests.
The crests make a strong and elegant statement as they sit behind your head.
Preparing the engine and transmission for a fast unleashing, the Sport button allows you to activate a dynamic driving setting that incorporates an approximately 20-second maximum responsiveness.
It enables you to select a suspension set-up where the emphasis is on either comfort or sporty performance. Electronic engine management demands a sportier response by a push of a button.
Through this, the engine dynamics become more direct, upshifts take place later and downshifts happen sooner.
Power Steering Plus
The power steering plus is a speed-sensitive power steering system that controls the steering by firming up and responding with greater precision at higher speeds.
By adjusting the steering ratio, the power steering plus provides quick manoeuvring and parking at low speeds.
Exterior of the Porsche 911 Carrera
The new Porsche 911 Carrera wears the SportDesign package, showcasing a revised front apron with a spoiler lip in a distinctive design.
Its rear is equipped with a new bumper section that raises the number plate to incorporate a new air intake and outtake.
Showing its distinct characteristic, the bonnet features a straight slope to the front apron that references the earlier 911 models.
The new door handles are completely recessed and are discreetly integrated into the car’s sporty image.
LED Main Headlights
Fitted with cutting-edge LED technology, the LED main headlights feature 4-point daytime running LED spotlights.
The shape and position of these main headlights are reminiscent of the first 911 generations that provide fast responsiveness and powerful illumination while driving, especially at night.
Adaptive Rear Spoiler
Now significantly larger and wider, the adaptive rear spoiler in the new 911 Carrera is 45 percent larger, which is aerodynamically effective, offering an improved balance between drag and a reduced lift.
In the Eco position, the rear spoiler creates the lowest aerodynamic resistance, thus minimising fuel consumption.
The rear spoiler fully extends in the Performance position for completely compensating the lift in the rear axle.
Together with the minimum lift at the front axle, it also offers safe and stable handling even at very high speeds.
Rear Lid Grille
The rear window visually extends and combines almost seamlessly into the black rear lid grille, which provides fresh air to the engine. These vertical slats give a distinct image in the rear fascia.
The rear lid grille also highlights the vertically oriented third brake light hidden behind the grille’s vertical slats and connects the seamless light strip with the three-dimensional LED taillights.
ParkAssist with Surround View
Supporting you in parking and manoeuvring, the ParkAssist comes equipped with a surround view that displays the area around your Carrera from different camera perspectives.
This driver-assistant system generates a virtual bird’s eye view of the car and displays this on the PCM screen.
Porsche Stability Management (PSM)
The Porsche Stability Management (PSM) is an automatic control system that maintains stability at the limits of dynamic driving performance.
This system is integrated into the 911 Carrera for a higher level of driving stability, safety, and agility. It also gives you a significantly sportier driving style when the PSM remains active in the background.

2020 Porsche 911 Carrera (992): Walkaround, Review and First LOOK!!
2020 Porsche 911 Carrera: More than just the cheapest Porsche 992!
History of Porsche 911 Carrera
The Porsche 911 was dubbed as the Type 992 and was launched at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 27, 2018, as a 2019 model. It was the internal designation for the eighth generation of the Porsche 911 sports car that uses a rack-and-pinion steering, MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension. The 992 has wide rear-wheel arches used on all models in its line-up and 20-inch wheels at the front, and 21-inch wheels at the rear.
The Carrera S and Carrera 4S, shown at the 2018 LA Auto Show, were the first models in the 992 lineages to debut in November 2018. A 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged flat-6 engine powers both of the models. In January 2019, Porsche launched the Carrera S and Carrera 4S Cabriolet, with the base Carrera model following in July 2019.
It is 45 mm wider compared to its predecessor and uses aluminium body panels. The 992 also has a rear bumper with larger exhaust tips. Its front fascia mimics the appearance of an early 911 in a modern fashion. All models of the 992 have electrical pop-out door handles, a retractable rear spoiler, LED headlights, and a full-length rear light bar.
The interior received significant changes, including a straighter dashboard that harks back the dashboard’s shape on the classic 911. Consisting of two 7-inch digital displays and an analogue tachometer, the 992 also has a 10.9-inch display with Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and navigation system as standard equipment.
At launch, the 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission is the only available transmission, and 7-speed manual transmission will be available in the Carrera S and 4S. The Sport Chrono package will also be available for both models as standard equipment partnered with the manual transmission. Equipped with a piezo injection engine, the 992 also has a revised intake system, and in some markets under Euro-6 regulations, this engine has particulate filters. It also includes driver assistance systems, including collision detection with braking intervention.
The 992 comes equipped with a wet mode feature that uses acoustic sensors on the wheel wells to detect wet pavement and adjusts the stability control, the rear wing position, and gearbox responsiveness to keep the car stable. In addition, with the Sport Chrono package’s over-boost function, the 992 increased performance for 20 seconds and in a 0-100 km/h acceleration, times are decreased by 0.2 seconds.
China continues to be the largest market of the 992, followed by the Asia-Pacific, Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
