“The fastest Mini ever… feels nothing like a Mini. More of a teeny 911 Turbo. Easy to drive stupidly quick, but lacks a crucial fizz and sense of cheekiness.”

“… the 2020 JCW GP feels every bit like a true honed performance car. Driver input and vehicle feedback, the low center of gravity, genius distribution of weight and lack of body roll in corners, the JCW GP has all the hallmarks of what enthusiasts drool over when they dream of a ‘driver’s car’.“

New Mini John Cooper Works GP FULL REVIEW with Nürburgring racetrack – most powerful Mini JCW ever by Autogefühl
History of MINI JCW GP3
The MINI John Cooper Works GP was first introduced in 2006 and was recognized as the company’s most upscale road car. Inspired by the motor racing side of the marque, the GP series was a test in revealing how far the brand can push its motorsports qualifications without losing its distinct modern MINI touch.
MINI is a British automotive marque that has been owned by BMW since 2000. The original MINI was spelled with “Mini” and was known to be a line of British small cars assembled by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and eventually became part of the British Motor Holdings. Our MINI JCW GP3 came from John Cooper Works (JCW), which is an English car marque now owned by BMW and using it on its Mini vehicles since 2007.
Although BMW gained the rights to use the JCW on their MINI cars in 2007, the GP series started in 2006. The second generation of the GP series, also called GP2, is the 2013 limited-edition John Cooper Works GP, a track-oriented version of the regular JCW hatchback based roughly on the JCW Challenge race car. The third and latest generation is the GP3, with a strictly limited batch of 3,000 vehicles worldwide, with 575 staying in the UK.
Matched with the most powerful engine ever equipped to a series-produced MINI 3-door Hatch, the MINI JCW GP3 embodies the motorsport essence with its dynamic package. The new-generation not just showcases its newly developed engines but also its wide track, large front apron, marked spoiler, and its rectangular wheel arches made of recycled carbon fiber.
The MINI John Cooper Works GP is available with two versions, including the base vehicle that is weight-optimized and the other version with the GP Touring Pack with additional features such as seat heating, automatic air conditioning, and Navigation Plus pack.
The largest export market for the MINI John Cooper Works GP is the US, way ahead of the UK market.
