History of Mercedes-Benz GLA200 Sport
The GLA-Class is a subcompact luxury crossover that has been produced and sold for two decades. Following Mercedes’ SUV nomenclature, GL stands for off-road vehicle, while the A stands for the smallest position within the Mercedes range or the A-Class.
The model cars are built and manufactured in a factory in Beijing, China. And was unveiled at the 2013 Auto Shanghai Motor Show.
It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 211 hp through, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive via the Mercedes-Benz 4Matic system. In 2016, the GLA-Class received a facelift and offered numerous improvements, including a redesigned grille, new front and rear bumpers and LED headlights, while the interior featured the same design.
In its second generation, the GLA-Class remains a front-wheel-drive car with new dimensions in all areas compared to the previous models. It gets 4.5 cm more rear legroom and 1.7 cm more rear shoulder room, and improved cargo space.
Inside, the architecture, fabrics and infotainment are upgraded with completely redesigned chassis for improved ride quality. It was designed to cater to the customer’s demands looking for a comfortable vehicle that can be used daily or for long journeys.
