History of Mercedes-Benz EQA 250+ AMG Line Premium

The Mercedes-Benz EQA is a battery electric subcompact luxury crossover SUV produced by the German brand. It is closely related to the ICE-powered second-generation GLA-class, which debuted in 2020.

A part of the EQ family, Mercedes-Benz EQA-Class includes 10 all-new models that will expand the model range, including the EQA250+. The EQA250+ was unveiled in March 2022 with a longer range, bigger battery, and improved aerodynamics. However, the entry-level EQA250’s range has been increased in May 2022 by using the same motor as the new EQA250+.  

The EQA-Class is the brand’s answer to its competitors, such as the Roadster by Tesla introduced in 2008. This resulted in an electric SUV which complemented the current trend of modern vehicles.

Outside, the traditional grille was replaced by a large black plastic panel which hosted the three-pointed silver star badge of the German carmaker. Its overall shape was similar to the GLA-Class, sharing the same MFA2 platform while featuring LED technology at the front and rear lights. 

Furthermore, the interior focuses on comfort technology which includes a higher seating position, typical of an SUV. It ensured enough cabin space for up to five passengers with a comprehensive digital dashboard and the intuitive MBUX infotainment system. 

In Q2 2022, sales of the EQA increased by more than 50 percent to roughly 7,000 units. It proves that it is popular among premium car buyers looking to make the switch to an electric vehicle.
