History of Mercedes-Benz CLS450 Coupe AMG 4MATIC Premium Plus
In 2004, Mercedes-Benz produced a series of executive cars – the CLS-Class. Being a successor of the Mercedes E-Class, it is a former fastback but then arrives as a four-door Coupe. Moreover, its position can be classified in the Mercedes model range, somewhere between the S-Class and the E-Class. The CLS-class, together with the other previous versions, all originated in Sindelfingen, Germany.
The CLS-Class was designed by Michael Fink way back in 2001. He was also the designer of the first generation C-Sport Coupe and Maybach 57 and 52. Its first generation is known as the C219 in Europe and Germany and was later on followed by the second generation C218 Mercedes-Benz CLS. Body styles are available in either 4-door coupe (C218 for Europe, W218 for US Market) or 5-door estate (X218 or Shooting Brake).
Its body styles were based on the Mercedes F800 concept with design cues from other models like the Mercedes SLS AMG. Unlike its predecessor, the C218 Mercedes-Benz CLS can be optioned with an all-wheel-drive 4MATIC on all models. However, it is only in a four-door Sedan in 4MATIC (all-wheel-drive) configuration. It is also a third-generation model and a successor to the Mercedes-Benz CLS C218 that was launched way back in 2018.
With a design that is made to perfectly fit the youthful, modern, and tech-savvy generation of car users, the CLS-CLass looks close enough to the stylish E-Class. This sedan comes with smooth-out surfaces than its prototypes for a more modest, AMG body double. Featuring a more advanced technology unlike its predecessors, the CLS-Class equips a 12.3-inch wide-touchscreen cockpit display with a multi-touch interface.
It also has a touchpad on the center console with multifunctional capabilities making it easier to navigate. This model is also known for its softer design and advanced technology, giving it a meaner look than its siblings.
