The latest Ford Mustang is the sixth-generation. The Ford Mustang is also known as the “Mustang II”. In a departure from prior Mustang models, Mustang Ecoboost includes fully independent rear suspension, 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged and direct-injected 4-cylinder engine. The powerful engine produces 317 PS and 432 Nm which enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. Top speed is 250 km/h.
The coupe’s front end draws inspiration from Ford’s Evos concept which was featured at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2011. The famous “vertical bar” style taillights are lit by LEDs, and will illuminate sequentially when being used as turn signals.
With an increased body width, and a larger cabin similar to the Ford GT, the Mustang Ecoboost interior body resembles that of an airplane cockpit. This gives more room at the back for rear passengers. The changeable ambient lighting is a cool feature and it is similar to the one found in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. A metal tag on the dashboard bears the Ford Mustang “Running Horse” insignia.
In 2015 new Mustang Ecoboost was introduced, marking the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, which was first unveiled on April 17, 1964. It is also the first Ford Mustang to be made in right-hand drive. Lucky us!
