History of BMW 520i M Sport Saloon (FL2021)
The BMW 5 Series has been one of the most sought-after cars in the market for decades. It has already established an iconic image, and today, it remains a crucial competitor in the saloon segment.
The BMW 5 Series is an executive vehicle produced since 1972 by BMW, a successor to the New Class sedans. In 1991, the wagon/estate body style (called “Touring”) made its first introduction to the global market. BMW manufactured the 5-door fastback (called “Gran Turismo”) from 2009 to 2017.
Naturally aspirated four-cylinder and six-cylinder petrol engines powered the first generation of the 5 series. For the succeeding generations, natural or turbocharged four-cylinder, six-cylinder, V8, and V10 were the drive powertrains.
Going through numerous face modifications, BMW made sure to retain the 5 Series executive saloon layout, which many people love.
Now, on its seventh generation, the 5 series is already in a facelifted version. Made available in many different body styles, such as 4-door saloon/sedan, 5-door wagon/estate, 4-door long-wheelbase saloon, and powertrains in 4-, 6-, and 8-cylinder power are available, with or without hybrid batteries.
It also includes a wide range of trims and packages you can upgrade to according to your needs – there are the standard SE variant, M Sport, M Sport Edition, and M Performance. The 5 Series range is currently assembled and produced in a plant production located in Dingolfing, Germany; Shenyang, China; and Magna Steyr, Austria.
While a TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder powertrain drives the 2021 520I M Sport Saloon, it is also incorporated with an M aerodynamics package that significantly improves the car’s fuel economy’s primary goal of the segment.
The package comprises an active air stream kidney grille, 19” M alloy wheels, and an M leather steering wheel, as well as an M steering wheel, partnered with a sport seat upfront for that athleticism ambience inside.
Best known for its excellent fuel economy and sharp exterior styling makes it stand out among its competitors, adding its cutting-edge technology upgrades give a luxurious drive experience.
The 520I M Sport Saloon’s global impact is undeniable, garnering the largest market in the United States, followed by Germany and the United Kingdom as its second and third-largest markets.
