Mercedes-Benz CLA180 Coupe AMG Premium Plus

The tagline for the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe is ?Play by your rules?. And the German carmaker played by its own rules when the first generation CLA Coupe was launched in 2013. It was the first compact four-door coupe in the world and together with the CLA Shooting Brake, more than 750,000 units were sold!

The second generation CLA Coupe features many changes and improvements over its predecessor and looks set to be even more popular.

The new CLA Coupe has a long, stretched entry line above the windows and frameless doors which makes the car sporty and elegant.

Forming the front end is the eye-catching front section, which is raked forward, like a shark?s menacing nose. The long, stretched bonnet featuring the unmistakable power domes is another head turner.

Flat headlights together with the low-slung bonnet and the diamond radiator grille with central star create the car?s sporty face.

With the glass areas moved back, the new CLA Coupe?s rear is a balance of elegance and sportiness. At the precisely modelled flanks, the pared-down lines provide an interesting interplay of light and shadows.

The two-piece, narrow taillights and the number plate, housed in the bumper, make the rear of the car look especially wide while the bulging shoulders give the car a muscular stance.

Flush with the outer edge of the body, the alloy wheels with their flared wheel arches and wide track exemplify dynamism.

It is worthy of note that the new CLA Coupe underwent a lot more aerodynamic development than its predecessor and the result is a drag coefficient value of 0.23 ? second only to the world?s best 0.22 figure of the A-Class Sedan.

As in the new A-Class, the avant-garde design of the dashboard stands out immediately. The conventional cowl no longer exists and the wing-shaped, main portion of the dashboard extends from one door to the other and the widescreen display is completely free-standing. The air vents look like turbines of a jet airplane.

The new CLA Coupe possesses the latest version of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User?Experience) voice control. Say ?Hey Mercedes? and the voice assistant can recognise?and answer even complex questions on an increasing number of topics.

The new CLA Coupe has significantly more space at many places in the interior. For example, at the front, headroom has increased by 17 mm and elbow room by?35 mm.

While rear legroom has increased marginally by just 1 mm, passengers enjoy 44 mm more elbowroom and 22 mm more shoulder room. Thanks to a wider opening (+262 mm), the boot compartment is more convenient to load than its predecessor.
