The new luxury crossover GLE450 is propelled by a 3-litre in-line 6-cylinder turbocharged engine with 362 hp and 500 Nm of torque.
Essentially a mild hybrid, it has a 48V electric system with an integrated starter motor (EQ Boost). Good for an additional 21 hp and 249 Nm, the clever system also powers the climate control, in-car electronics and the electronically-driven turbocharger.
